Theresa Marie Costa, longtime resident of Fraser, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on March 12, 2021. She was 86 years of age.

Theresa was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 27, 1934, the third oldest child of eight to Francis and Delia (Vaillancourt) McGuire. She was a 1952 Roseville High Graduate. Theresa was united in marriage to Anthony Peter Costa on June 6, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Fraser and their union was blessed with five children of whom she loved and cherished. Theresa was a dedicated mother and provided a loving home with Christian values. She was a “firecracker”, always on the go, especially if there was a good garage sale around. Theresa worked for the Fraser Public Schools and MISD as a bus driver for many years, and later worked as a Realtor for Century 21. Theresa loved spending the warm months in Michigan tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed playing cards, visiting with, and shopping with her sisters and was a self-taught seamstress who loved making matching outfits for her daughters when they were growing up, and customizing her own clothes to fit her short little legs. Theresa was very independent and quite feisty. There are three ways of doing things: the easy way, the hard way, or Theresa’s way. Theresa will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Theresa is the wife of 60 years to Tony; dearest mother of Michael, Gerard (Carol), Martin, Valerie and Collette; and cherished grandmother of Katie, Robert, Anna, Isabella (Devin), Olivia, Sophia and Ava. She is also survived by brothers, Robert and Tom McGuire, and countless nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Wednesday 2pm – 8pm with a 7pm Rosary. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Catholic Church of Roseville on Thursday at 10:30am. Memorial contributions may be addressed to The Society of The Little Flower, 1313 N. Frontage Road • Darien, Illinois • 60561 https://www.littleflower.org
