WALTER “WALT” DEAN BRISTOL, 88, of Lapeer for 33 years, formerly of Pontiac, died Thursday, February 10, 2022. He was born March 25, 1933 in Lapeer to parents Clayton and Harriet (Doe) Bristol. Walt graduated Lapeer High School Class of 1951. He married Beverly Ann Ingamells on January 18, 1952 in Lapeer.
Mr. Bristol was a draftsman at the General Motors Tech Center, Warren, ending his career in 1984 after thirty years. In retirement, Walt became a cowboy, he always loved horses. He was a past member of the Michigan Trail Riders Association (MTRA), past president of the MTRA, past member of the Oakland County Mounted Division, and Life Member of the North Macomb Sportsman Club.
Cremation has been entrusted with Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Walt’s memorial service will be 12 noon Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Attica United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Ron Rouse. The family will receive friends the hour before. Burial of cremated remains will be in Hunters Creek Cemetery, later in the spring.
