Joseph Romuald Riley, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 80. He was the devoted husband of Cathleen, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Joseph was a cherished father to Lisa (Daniel) Wega, Marcus Riley, Erin (Michael) Linsky, Patrick (Taylor) Riley, and Devin Riley. He was also a beloved grandfather to Jackson McElhenney, Grady Linsky, Kiera Riley, Miles Linsky, Madelyn Riley, and Norah Riley. Joseph is also survived by his sister Lucinda (Gary) Bunch, as well as his nieces and nephews.
Joseph was known for his love of hunting, which included memorable trips to Canada and northern Michigan. He was a skilled woodworker and took great pride in his craftsmanship. Above all, Joseph was a dedicated family man, finding immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren. He was a proud spectator at his children and grandchildren’s baseball games, cheering them on with unwavering support. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him, remembering him for his warmth, kindness, and love for his family.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Monday, April 1, 2024 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A rosary will be said on Monday evening at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 9:30am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 40501 Hayes Road in Sterling Heights. Friends may visit the church on Tuesday beginning at 9:00am.
