Dominic Orlando passed away on January 20, 2022 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Dominic was born on May 10, 1940 in Terrasini, Sicily to Andrew and Margaret Orlando. Dominic proudly served his country in the United States Army attaining the rank of Spec-4 and attaining the Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin) along with a commendation as a sharpshooter (pistol 45 caliber), Marksman (Rifle M-14), Sharpshooter (BAR), and expert (bayonet) before being honorably discharged in October of 1963. Dominic could often be found pursuing his love of cooking, baking, hunting, playing cards and spending time in his garden but above all other things Dominic loved his children and grandchildren. His presence will be missed among all those that knew him. Former husband of Lois Orlando. Beloved father of Andrew (Sandy) Orlando, James Orlando, Lynn Orlando. Very proud grandfather of Catherine Orlando, Nina Orlando, Dominic J. Orlando, Dominic P. Orlando, and Jacqueline Orlando. Dear brother of Mike (JoAnn) Orlando, Jimmy (Rosalie) Orlando, Rosalie (Joe) Ciaramitaro, and Josephine (Corrado) Buccheri. Visitation Thursday 2-8 PM with a 7 PM Rosary at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc. 49150 Schoenherr Rd. (n. of 22 Mile Rd), Shelby Twp. Instate Friday 11:30 AM until Noon Funeral Mass and military honors following at St. Isidore Catholic Church 18201 23 Mile Road (corner of Romeo Plank), Clinton Twp. Dominic will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit immediately following the Catholic Mass of Resurrection.
