Saturday Aug. 6th, At Hillsdale College, North Macomb’s own Katie Jacob shot her way to the National Champion for Olympic skeet. Her first open class national championship. Katie shot 245/250, and tied a national record. Katie had a big enough lead, 6 targets, that even with the point system used for finals finish position, she could not be caught. When you 6/10 straights, its pretty tough to over come. Katie’s competitors included 6 time Olympic medal winner Kim Rhode, current Tokyo Olympic gold medal holder Amber English, also Tokyo Olympian Austen Smith. and past world champions Dania Vizzi and Catlin Conner
