Good & Welfare: Life Member Bill Anderson Jr. has passed away

WILLIAM “BILL” ARVID ANDERSON JR., passed away on the morning of April 6, 2021, at the age of 78. 

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Pat, his daughter Dawn Anderson-Tywlak (Robert Tywlak) and is now reunited with his daughter Kimberly Anderson, as well as being the loving grandpa to Donald “Donnie” William Hudson and Dylan Jacob Hudson. Bill is also survived by his sister Linda Vella, however at last again in the company of his elder siblings; Ruth Dukes, Richard “Dick” LaGrandeur, Ardath Young, and Margaret Popravsky. Bill also leaves his legacy with dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many loving friends and extended family members, and especially so to his little buddy, Stashu the cat. 

Bill’s working days were spent in the Detroit Metro area building a better world, with painting and construction serving as his favorited mainstays. His keen attention to detail was also utilized as a Quality Control Inspector overseeing construction at what would come to be the Fermi II nuclear power plant. He balanced his work by taking leisure in the captivating outdoors that defines the beautiful state of Michigan, being partial to the Upper Peninsula especially. His favorite pastime was spending time hunting, where sitting in the woods and simply watching the beauty of the world was reward in itself, and a successful hunt was just a bonus. 

He was a Shriner, a Mason, a member of the Troy VFW as well as the Spirit 22 Metropolitan Club, DAV, and a Life Member of the North Macomb Sportsman Club. He also spent time as a member of the Hazel Park Eagles in years past. 

Private Family Funeral Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 2 PM at A. J. Desmond & Sons (Price Chapel), 3725 Rochester Rd (between Big Beaver & Wattles), 248-689-0700. The Funeral will be webcast, a link may be found on the Tribute Wall (see Grey tab above) a few minutes before the service starts. Family will receive friends Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 3-8 PM with a VFW service at 5:30 PM.
